Form 1120 and applicable New York corporate tax filings for established and growing businesses.
We prepare the federal C corporation return and identify applicable New York and other state corporate filings based on the company’s activity.
We report the corporation’s income, expenses, gains, losses, deductions and credits using its books and supporting records.
We review whether the corporation must file New York Form CT-3 and related schedules or returns.
We ask where the corporation operates, employs people, owns property and earns revenue to identify additional filing questions.
We review the year-end financial statements and follow up on missing, unusual or unclear items before finalizing the return.
We review the records that commonly affect a C corporation return, including shareholder transactions, officer compensation, dividends, loans and major asset purchases.
We explain filing questions in plain English and can coordinate related individual tax preparation when an owner also needs a personal return.
We compare wages, reimbursements, loans, contributions and distributions with the corporation’s books and supporting documents.
We review distributions recorded during the year and information that may affect corporate and shareholder reporting.
We identify equipment, vehicles and other assets that may require depreciation reporting.
Before your appointment, please upload the following through our secure client portal so we can prepare for the meeting.
We will request any additional records needed for the work after you decide to proceed. If a listed item is unavailable, contact us before your appointment.
Fees depend on bookkeeping condition, transaction volume, shareholder activity, states, fixed assets and filing history. We review the scope before quoting the return.
A domestic C corporation generally files Form 1120 to report its income, deductions, credits and federal income tax liability.
A New York C corporation subject to the general business corporation franchise tax generally files Form CT-3. Other schedules, combined returns or the MTA surcharge may apply depending on the facts.
No. A C corporation is a separate federal taxpayer. An owner may still have personal reporting for wages, dividends or other transactions with the corporation. Personal returns are quoted separately.
A filing obligation may still exist. We review the entity’s status, prior filings and state activity before confirming the required returns.
We can discuss cleanup or catch-up bookkeeping first. That work is separate from tax preparation and will be quoted before we begin.
