Port Washington, New York

High-net-worth & complex individual tax preparation.

Tax preparation for individuals and families with investment income, capital gains, K-1s, stock compensation, estimated payments and multistate filing needs.

Complex Form 1040 tax returns

Bring the moving pieces into one return.

We connect income, investments, pass-through activity, payments and applicable state filings so each item is reviewed as part of the full tax picture.

INVESTMENTS

Capital gains and investment income

Brokerage activity, Forms 1099-B, basis adjustments, dividends, interest and capital-loss carryovers for Schedule D and Form 8949 reporting.

PASS-THROUGH INCOME

K-1s and multiple income sources

Schedule K-1 information from partnerships, S corporations, estates and trusts, coordinated with the rest of the individual return.

STOCK COMPENSATION

Equity awards and option activity

W-2 reporting, Forms 3921 or 3922 when applicable, brokerage statements and cost-basis records connected to exercises and sales.

PAYMENTS & STATES

Estimated taxes and multistate filings

Withholding, quarterly payments, income from multiple states and changes during the year reviewed together before filing.

Coordinated individual tax reporting

Complexity is about the return, not a label.

“High net worth” is not a separate federal filing status. The work becomes more involved when a return combines investment sales, K-1s, stock compensation, rental or business activity, large income changes, charitable giving or multiple states.

Depending on the facts, the return may also require a review of Net Investment Income Tax on Form 8960, Alternative Minimum Tax on Form 6251 and updated withholding or estimated payments. We determine which forms apply rather than assuming every item belongs on every return.

Capital gains and basis

We reconcile brokerage reporting with available basis records and identify transactions that require separate Form 8949 reporting.

Additional tax calculations

We evaluate whether NIIT, AMT or other individual-return calculations apply to the information provided.

Planning handoff

When a filing issue points to a future-year decision, we separate return preparation from year-round tax planning and quote the work clearly.

Common questions

Complex individual tax questions, answered.

Have a different question? Let's talk.

What makes an individual return complex?

Multiple brokerage accounts, a large number of transactions, K-1s, stock compensation, rental or business activity, several states, foreign reporting and major life or income changes can all add complexity. We review the documents before confirming the scope.

Do you prepare high-net-worth individual tax returns?

Yes, when the return falls within our agreed scope. “High net worth” is not a filing status, so we quote based on the forms, schedules, records and states involved rather than assets alone.

Can you review Net Investment Income Tax and AMT?

Yes. We evaluate Form 8960 Net Investment Income Tax and Form 6251 Alternative Minimum Tax when the facts of the return require those calculations.

Can you help with stock options or equity compensation?

We review the W-2, Forms 3921 or 3922 when applicable, exercise records, brokerage statements and cost-basis information during the consultation. Complex transactions are accepted after scope review.

Do you provide investment management or legal advice?

No. We provide tax preparation and agreed tax-planning services. We can coordinate tax reporting questions with your investment adviser or attorney, but we do not select investments or provide legal advice.
